Ready to Love Yourself MORE? 💞

Yesterday, I talked a little about self-care and self-love, and today, I want to dive a bit deeper because I know this is an area where most women need work.

 

First of all, when I say self-care, what’s the first thing that comes to mind for you?

 

Maybe you get excited because it’s already your jam and you love new exciting ways to practice it. 🤩

 

Maybe you are like… UGH, this again. Why is everyone so obsessed with this?

 

Perhaps you think🤔 … if I had more time or money, I would work on it, but I don’t, so I’m going to delete this email.

 

WAIT…

 

Regardless of what you thought, it is entirely possible to practice self-care every day, which leads to more self-love.  😍 How, you might ask? Well, it starts the way any good practice does, with a commitment and a declaration. You must first see the value in it for you and what it will provide for you because the truth is, it does take time away from something else you might already be doing. I promise you, when you commit to it, everything will fall into place.

 

Next is declaration. You must tell the people in your life what you are doing so that they can support you on your journey.

 

For me, every time I take care of myself in a big way, like going on a trip by myself to rejuvenate, when I come home, my family always tells me - you should do that more often. That’s right, the world did not fall apart while I was gone (yes, things did not go the way they would if I were there, but who cares, everyone is still alive!) and in fact, they see how happy I am, and now I have more to give them. So you have to show others the value of you taking care of yourself, which you must believe first.

 

Next, START. Whether you start with 5 minutes a day or jump into a weekend away, you must start with what’s comfortable for you. You must also make time for it daily.

 

I remember when I first started my daily meditation 🧘‍♀️ practice, it wasn’t easy. I had no idea when I was going to have the time to be alone in a quiet environment for 20 minutes. After considering all the possibilities, I decided what works best for me is to wake up 30 minutes before my family. This way, I could have uninterrupted time without even having to ask for it. After the first week of consistently doing it and seeing a huge benefit, I was hooked and kept doing it.

 

After I successfully created that practice, I created more and more, and now, in my house, I’m known as the self-care queen 👑 because it fills me up, creates deeper self-love, and I can be more present in everything else that I do knowing I’m filled up!

 

 

 

There is a reason on an airplane ✈️ they tell you to put on your oxygen mask before tending to anyone else. If you can’t breathe, what good are you to anyone else?

 

I hope you consider starting a self-care practice or taking yours to the next level so you can love yourself more and be the person you are meant to be every day of your amazing life!

PS. Yesterday I met with a woman in Sedona who told me I needed to be more playful and lower my stress, so last night, Stella (my 11 yo) made me run on the golf course and roll down hills. She tried to have me run through sprinklers, but I had to cut it off at some point. HAHA. I guess I have a lot of work to do.
