Have You Found It Yet? 🔎

We all are searching for it, and mostly it eludes us while it walks away giggling...

 

BALANCE 

 

I feel like this idea of balance is something everyone is searching for and very few find it.

 

Maybe our obsession started when we were young and learned to ride a bike. It was incredibly frustrating for so long. We cried, we fell off, we got back up… AND THEN…

 

We did it!!!

 

WE FOUND BALANCE and life was forever changed for us! Once we learn balance, it’s not possible to unlearn it. Even if you haven’t ridden a bike for 30 years, you could get right back on one and pedal away effortlessly.

 

When you learned how to balance, it was exhilarating and felt so good. You were on top of the world and wanted to show everyone your new talent!

 

Now, as adults, we are continuously searching for it, knowing it’s possible to have but back to feeling frustrated.

 

When life is out of balance, we feel off and frustrated.

 

Some people say it’s not possible to truly find balance, but I disagree.

 

Here's the definition - Balance: a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.

 

Balance doesn’t mean that you are doing all things in equal parts. It means you are managing your priorities to the best of your ability. We all have different priorities in life, so I’m not going to spend the same amount of time cleaning my house as I do on my business, for example. That would be crazy and I would feel even more out of balance.

 

Here’s what I recommend to start to feel balance in life.

Make a list of what’s important to you in life:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Work
  • Self Care
  • Exercise
  • Travel

You can even break it down more than this if it helps you. Next, let’s start to prioritize. Put a number next to every category with 1 being the most important.

 

When we feel out of balance is when we are spending more time on our number 5 category than our number 1 category, for example. When you look at it from this perspective, I think you will quickly see why you feel out of balance.

 

Next, I want you to look at the areas of your life that are your top priorities that you aren’t spending time on and ask yourself why. Are you overwhelmed? Do you need help in these areas?

 

Recently, I noticed that I have some work priorities that I can never get done. I have several people that work for me, and yet I still can’t get them accomplished because we have other priorities we are working on. So, I decided it’s time to hire another person so that I can fulfill my goals in these areas without stressing out that we don’t have enough time or that I have to do everything myself.

 

Where are you feeling like you have to do everything yourself? Could you ask for help? Hire help? Reprioritize to get your power back?

 

This is the key to balance. Prioritize your priorities and remember, it’s okay to fall off, just get back on and start pedaling again!
